Angela Chia Chen Lin

Angela Chia-Chen Lin was born in 1998 in Taichung, Taiwan and started her violin lessons at the age of six.

She had been studying at pre-college in Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy”Leipzig from 2015-2016, finished her Bachelor at Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien in the year 2021, and now finishing Master of Violin Performance at the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien (MUK) with professor Henja Semmler. During her studies at the MUK, she was taught by Nicolas Koeckert and Amiram Ganz.

She participated in master classes of distinguished artists such as Chin-Hong Nanette Chen, Vesselin Paraschkevov, David Chan, Boris Borgolotto, Tomasz Tomaszewski, Katherin Ten Hagen, Nicolas Koeckert, Cho-Liang Lin, and Phillip Setzer.

She played the Vivaldi L’estro armonico as soloist with Classic Orchestra in Taiwan National Concert Hall at the age of 10 and held her first Solo Recital in Taichung in 2015. She won the second prize in violin solo and the first prize in String Quartet in the National Student Music Competition Taichung District in 2013.

She played in The Affiliated Youth Symphony Orchestra of National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra(NTSO) in 2011 and was accepted by NTSO International Youth Orchestra Camp in summer of 2013-2015 and AYO in 2018.

After studying abroad, she participated in the EuroArts Music Festival. In 2016, she played Lalo Symphonie Espagnole as soloist with Vidin Philharmonic at the Vidin Municipal Concert Hall in Bulgaria. In 2017, she participated in a concert tour in Germany with Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra as viola substitute.

In 2018, she organised two concerts in both Taipei and Taichung with friends from Vienna, and played 1st Violin in the Mendelssohn Octet. In 2019, she formed a Piano Trio with Yu-Wei Chou and Ya-Chu Ho and participated in the concert series held by Taipei Philharmonic Chamber Music Society.

She is assistant concertmaster of the WISE Ensemble since 2021 and second violinist of the Cipra Quartet since its inception in 2023, playing regularly in with different orchestras and ensembles, including ProArte Orchestra, Alma Mahler Philharmonie, WISE (Wien International Soloist Ensemble), Camerata Massarot, Vienna Ensemble, and many more.
